When Did We Stop Feeling Connected?
A personal reflection from the first Reset Project Experience, Momentos Peluche
This one is for all of us who wake up thinking:
“I want to feel more alive… and a little less overwhelmed.”
Because if you’ve been feeling stretched, lonely in a crowded world, or like your heart is on airplane mode even when your phone isn’t, you’re not alone. I’ve been thinking about this a lot, especially as we launched our first episode of Momentos Peluche, the heartbeat of The Reset Project.
And the question that keeps circling back is painfully simple:
What happened to human connection?
And more importantly: How do we bring it back?
Momentos Peluche: The First Reset Project Experience
Where humor, tenderness, and humanity make a comeback.
Momentos Peluche is the joy-filled, bilingual, slightly chaotic, deeply heartfelt show I created because I needed a reminder of the good in the world, and I know I’m not the only one.
Born from Latine warmth, raised in Silicon Valley’s innovation glow, and fueled by universal values, MP is not just entertainment. It’s a soft reset button. A return to what makes us human.
Every episode centers on a value.
The first one? Connection.
And wow… did it land.
Before we dive into Shakira’s moment (yes, THAT Shakira, singer, global icon, mother, creative force), let’s be honest about where we are right now.
THE INSIGHT: We’re More Connected Than Ever… Yet Lonelier Than Ever.
Somewhere along the way, our emotional bandwidth collapsed.
We have infinite apps but shrinking intimacy.
We scroll through highlight reels yet feel unseen.
We ask the internet for advice instead of calling someone who loves us.
As a mom raising two boys, I see the cost up close. The anxiety. The comparison. The pressure to perform emotionally and socially online. And as an executive who’s spent decades shaping narratives and building digital communities, I see how urgently we need a recalibration.
This isn’t just a trend. It’s a crisis.
But it’s also a turning point.
We have a window, right now, to choose a life designed for meaning, emotional health, and connection.
THE BENEFITS OF REAL CONNECTION
What actually changes when we reconnect?
When we allow ourselves to be present, imperfect, honest… something shifts.
Connection gives us:
Emotional strength, knowing someone has your back.
Perspective, shared humanity breaks the illusion of isolation.
Regulation, nervous systems co-regulate; it’s science and soul.
Joy, the kind that doesn’t require a filter.
Resilience, life feels lighter when it’s not lived alone.
These aren’t small things. They’re the things we’re starving for.
RESET WITH US: How Momentos Peluche Brings Connection to Life
In episode 1, we honored Shakira, global superstar, storyteller, and mother, because she embodies the value of connection in such a real, grounded way.
We highlighted:
Her connection with her children
Not the red-carpet version. The real one, the affection, the joy, the tenderness. The kind of love that reminds us of our own.
Her connection to memory and legacy
Shakira honored her late friend, the legendary Gustavo Cerati.
A reminder that some bonds don’t fade; they transform. They stay alive through us.
And of course… Peluche
Our giant teddy-bear spirit guide reminding us that silliness is also connection.
Joy counts. Laughter counts. Softness counts.
Because the small moments?
They become the big ones when we finally pay attention.
